To be fair I’m not sure that I could have picked a worse time to decide I wanted to start this blog. I’m in graduate school (a part-time master’s program) while still working full time and my husband and I are also in the process of buying a new house (still in NC, just a new town). Add to that the fact that I have about a million time intensive hobbies and interests so obviously adding another one was totally the smartest thing I could do.
Lol! Story of my life.
But I really wanted to start up this blog. It’s taken me much longer than I expected to get it set up and up and running but I’m really excited about it. My sewing room is half packed, nearly all my current projects are boxed and definitely all my fabric. My kitchen is…scary, and not in that super cute I-love-Halloween way, but in that Oh-My-God-We’re -Moving-and-I-Haven’t-Been-to-the-Grocery-Store-in-Weeks way. My house is a wreck because we are half in boxes and half out of boxes and the dogs are going crazy. We’re currently going through the keep-thrift-toss decision process and neither of us can find anything.
So as you can see it’s a great time to start blogging about vintage fashion, pin-ups, muscle cars, old fashioned wisdom, cooking, and cleaning.
*Que sarcastic self-deprecating eye roll*
So to start off I’m going to be doing a lot of blogging about the craziness of moving and my plans for once things settle down a bit. Like my plans for sewing and my plans for gardening. And of course how my chickens and our pups and kitties are handling the move. There will be LOTS of adorable animal pictures because I just can’t help myself. I also plan to spend some time over the couple months following the move as we set the house back up doing a bit more research on how things used to be done. Like victory gardens and canning. I’ve done some modern canning with a good friend of mine but I want to expand my canning repertoire as well as my cooking repertoire and I’m very excited that the new kitchen will allow that. Plus I will finally have a real pantry and not one we build out of an extra hall closet.
So, more to come it the future. The immediate future is likely to be a little crazy and interesting, just like my life right now (LoL!) but I’m super excited about sharing my life, interests, and journey with all of you.
